Getting better with age to be honest, and his range is pretty impressive. He can do nervous and neurotic in Shutter Island & The Departed, leading man in Titanic, Great Gatsby, Romeo & Juliet, comedy in his career highlights Wolf of Wall Street & OUQTIH. Villain in Django. Action star in Inception & The Revenant. And does it all with conviction. There was an element of adult in kids clothing in some of his early Scorsese pairings in The Aviator and Gangs of New York where he does feel like he’s trying a bit too hard and getting out acted by those around him (Blanchett and DDL which is no shame) but that’s a minor quibble.
