I didn't see many new movies last year but this was the best one I saw. I look forward to the next one.

I want to start by saying, I am also a millennial, since I expect to get buried by others, but I genuinely feel this Puss in Boots movie is the best thing to come out of the Shrek movies.

Yeah, I know, Shrek is love, Shrek is life, but aside from the memes and the humor, nothing in the franchise has hit like this movie.

Was this the most mature Dreamworks film yet? I think it was. Various “cuss words” (like crap and hell, even though I don’t think they should count), blood being shown, and the scariest antagonist of any film to date.

By far one of the best animated films I’ve seen in the last 10 years. Absolutely love it and cannot wait for another one.

Pinocchio’s motivation in the Del Toro version was never wanting to be a real boy. Besides that, great interview!

I can’t believe the best film I have seen for three or four years was an animated cat film.

An animator on the film suggested that the opening sequence where Puss fights the giant may have been inspired by Attack on Titan. Really though, they made a western, and westerns are great plus the setting fits since Puss is basically Zorro except he's a cat and not a fox

I'm torn about wanting more of the movie. I want to see the Wolf and the 3 Bears Crime Family get their own spinoffs but the best thing about the Wolf was how sparsely he was used and the sense of mystery around him. Making him a protagonist would take away from that. Of course, maybe they could give him that story Adler from Beastars, which was about death falling in love with a woman who's soul he has to reap.

Goldie and the Three Bears in a Guy Ritchie style heist comedy where they're completely out of their depth with the level "criming" required for the job would be pretty great though.

I liked the movie a lot but I'm not gonna lie I feel like the ending would've been better if >!puss died fighting to the death with death, kitty softpaws wishes for one more life for puss, and death lets it slide(for now) because he was willing to face his fate like a man(cat)!<

I've watched this 3 or 4 times now (little one loves it) and I never get tired of it. It's such a good movie and I love Antonio Banderas so seeing him have success is great.

Goddamn I love this movie so much, it's so fun and wholesome.

Great article, Antonio Banderas is such a masterful actor. Wish he had less villainy roles here in the U.S though ugh
