This movie just didn't hit me the right way. I didn't like any of the characters, didn't appreciate any of the tension or tragedy that they experienced. It was very beautiful and had a few amazing scenes, but the actual emotion of a lot of those scenes felt flat to me and it made the score seem heavy handed, like it was saying "look at how amazing this movie is!"

The mask scene for example was really fun and entertaining but I don't understand the significance or what actually happened. She managed to scare everyone into thinking she was possessed (after they were shit talking her). Then the door burst open and the wind was blowing around the room, so I would have been into it if they leaned into the supernatural angle. But it turns out she really was just pretending? Why did the door fling open then?

I went in fairly blind besides reading the plot synopsis, not really sure why it's hitting me different than most other reviewers. Am I looking at the movie "wrong," or do other people agree? Not trying to shit on the movie, it was very well made, but maybe you can explain some of the things I didn't like
