I thought that was a Qu'ran at first. I've heard of them being challenged, especially in the context of post 9/11 Islamophobia, but I'm glad to see they didn't top the list of challenges books.
Thanks to Florida pretty much every book can claim to be challenged now 🙄 I bet every person so afraid of the "liberal agenda" let their kids read The Little Hen which is about as communist as it gets.

I saw a post recently that at least one school library removed all of their books and posted signs about needing to make sure that each book was acceptable before replacing them.

Sounds like they're bothering by the book. Excellent.

I've read catcher in the rye. I'm convinced that it's only banned because it's shit.

Same, my grand is the librarian at my school and when I say she’ll fight tooth and nail just to put up and let these kids get access to banned books, I mean it. We even have a whole LGBT+ section in our fiction section since it’s ordered by genre and not but author

My question to you is, do you think Salinger wants us to like Holden?

*Edited with full list thanks to link provided by /u/JordanZr
Cather in the Rye – J.D. Salinger is not on this list, but in the picture as an example of another book that is often banned or challenged.
