This is an alternative way to list the batch number.

Eg: Exactly 6 months before the expiry, this was made.

This is done so that they can issue a recall of a specified range of expiry times if they find out something went wrong with that batch, like “all salsa with expiry date Mar 18, 2023 between 1:01pm and 3:12pm is contaminated with enriched plutonium”.
