The mildly interesting part is that the total was $15 even (plus one Swedish krona and one video game token).

Ones: $2 Quarters: $11 Dimes: $1.40 Nickels: .30 Pennies: .30 Krona (1) Token (1)

I always toss coins (pocket change from purchases) into a big jar, but this time last year I thought it might be mildly interesting to see how much I found in a year's time, so I segregated the found money.

The two bills and most of the quarters were found as I passed through the parking deck at work.

My grandmother (dad's mom) used to collect "found treasure" (change) and then give it to my brother and myself each year at Christmas (one of the two times a year we saw her). I'm in my 40s now, don't have any kids of my own, but have continued with my (almost 6 year old) niece. Thanks for the reminder of the memory!
