This is just like my setup. Smoked a turkey yesterday on the Big Green Egg with a plate setter. Can confirm that this (your linked post, not the OP) is the typical color. Can also confirm that it's a magnificent way to cook a bird. I've been doing this for about 10 years now because the fam doesn't want it any other way.
