They’ll probably put it back into the next edition, and everyone’s syllabus will require that one, so they’ll end up paying full price for the new textbook instead of buying a used one that’s only different because of crap like this.

this may be a sarcastic joke but it's literally what my school did once.

had a $240 chemistry book that was revision 1-A and required to enroll. following year, revision 1-B was $270 and required to enroll.

the difference?

it was identical. the only difference was it didn't have a blank spacer page between the publishing authors and prologue

I mean, they have to re-order all of the questions at the end of every chapter to make a "new edition" of the book so you can't use the old one - mistakes gonna happen ya'll
