You put bananas in bags? That seems incredibly wasteful. What country is this?

Only good deal was the bananas tbf, but it was so good it makes up for the carrots and onions being a bit pricey

This is in Italy, the bags are biodegradable by law and you need them since you pick and weigh the product yourself... I think it's actually less wasteful since nothing is pre-packaged and you can get just the amount you need

They're not pre-packaged so you pick how much you need put it in the bag and weigh it on the scale which gives you the sticker with the price

Euro on point, I see!

Yep. We have the same in the UK, but you don't need the bag. That's just wasting plastic.
Just weight them and put the sticker on one of the items.

Ha, nice one!

It's not plastic, they're biodegradable by law and you can reuse them to collect organic waste

Ahhh apologies! That's amazing. I'm using one right now to catch my peanut shells :)

We just put the actual bananas directly on the scale. They come in a natural wrapper after all.

Makes sense, but as I said in another comment we reuse the bags to collect organic waste so nothing is wasted in the end
