Clearly the teller didn’t read your note before she put the money in the brown paper sack.

Why is this so hard for people to understand? The BEP doesn't shuffle bills before sending them to banks.

Well these are from 6 years ago. Mildly interesting that they haven’t been in circulation during that time

They're not actually from 6 years ago. The dates on bills don't change every year like they do on coins. They only change when something about the design changes. 2017A bills are the most recent. These could've been printed yesterday.

Yeah, my dad was a banker for years and always had money that was sequential, because he took money out of his account at work and everything was "fresh."

Probably related to the recent bank fears in the US and higher than normal demand for cash if it was a recent withdrawal. Or somewhere a inventory was taken and older cash was moved to the front for distribution.

You know how something just gets left at the back of the cubbard/drawer because you keep restocking at home? That is probably what this is. Somewhere at some cash depo (bank or otherwise in the distribution system for ATMs) these were sitting "at the back" in the inventory and higher than usual ATM witdrawals for example made them finally enter circulation.

Looks like play money - I’m in Australia, our money is like a plastic polymer.

Same here in Britain, I’ve always found our money to be so much better than the Euro and American Dollar. I genuinely don’t know how people live without the polymer money!

Although I’m certainly jealous of the universality of the Euro, being used in almost all of Europe and all.

Everyone always thinks money that looks different from what they're used to looks like play money.
