I agree with everything but the last paragraph, son. Reckon these slurs are hateful and should be stopped.

I'm not your son, boy, but thank you for an example of how a word that isn't inherently disrespectful or hateful can become so if used in a certain way.

None of those terms have power because we never gave them power, and if you're offended every time you see the word cracker I'd bet good money that there's a white hood at your house, or there was one at your father's.
