i'm still in my early 20s and not yet surprisingly. I had no idea it was this bad until i saw my boots though. Right after I took this picture I made a doctors appointment so i can get referred to a podiatrist lol

That’s the best thing you ever did. I have few regrets in life, but not wearing my insoles growing up is definitely number 1 on the list. My knees have no cartilage, my hips pop, my lower back is a hot mess, all my back actually, pelvis 1” higher on one side and my shoulders are an inch higher on the opposite side…. Oh, and because of that, my spine has been curving…. All because I chose not to wear insoles… oh, for context, I’m only 37….

😨dear god... how do you manage your pain?

I'm right there with you. Lower back, right side gets tight, causing upper left shoulder pain.

Good for you, get it under control early to prevent pain later on.

This wear is due to over pronation of your foot. Pronation happens naturally to absorb impact of walking, your foot ‘rolls’ slightly from the outside to the inside.
It’s quite a common thing for runners to have to deal with, obviously if you’re running you’re doing more footsteps and putting more stress on your feet, it can lead to leg hip and back pains etc if not dealt with. I have a slight over pronation and use structured running shoes to correct, but don’t need anything for my ‘normal’ footwear.
Your picture suggests you’re pronating more than you should, I see from another comment you’ve made an appointment to get it looked at which is good. The likely outcome is you’ll need structured insoles to help make your foot movement more neutral.

For years I had a diet of anti inflammatories, pain killers & stomach meds to fight the stomach ulcers caused by said relief methods. Then I found CBD/THC. That has saved and ruined my life at the same time; currently in Norway under lockdown waiting to be deported for flying in for work with 3.5g of medical CBD/THC….

NGL, I used to beat Varsity swimmers in straight kicking my feet are so flat. All my shoes look like that. When I learned to walk it was pigeon toed. Had to force my mind to "remember" to point my toes straight.
Used to get custom Vans tennis shoes in school. They had my foot profile on file and could do custom soles. Wish they still offered that comfy service. I'd still buy.

By "if not dealt with" are you referring to custom insoles, or what other means could there be?
