Apparently American chocolate uses a chemical that makes it taste nasty because the chemical itself smells like rotten eggs and/or vomit. Still not sure why it's becoming a thing though.

(non American here) it's more like the very faintest hint of that taste you get at the back of your mouth a while after vomiting. It's nearly entirely masked by the other flavours though. Idk if this is a Hershey's specific thing, but the texture seems kind of 'waxy' too instead of creamy. I'll still eat it regardless though hahaha

That burn in milk chocolate is the exact reason I eat only the darkest I can find. Usually unsweetened baking chocolate. Usually from Mexico.
