In Alexandria, VA this weekend...four way stop at the roundabout. Why even bother?

Plenty of these in the US. Is there some thought that we don't?

You realize roundabouts are in America right? Did an American make this meme?

We have tons of roundabouts in Indianapolis. Seem to work just fine.

If they’re made right! The ones recently installed in my area are single lane, small diameter that can’t fit a semi truck, with a high domed center with landscaping so dense or an edifice you can’t see through it to see the traffic flow! Ridiculous! This doesn’t work! They were installed to replace four way stop’s that work better for the location!

It’s not hard at all no way everyone has trouble, never had an issue, I’m American, I go through a few every now and then

Grew up in a small town with a large roundabout in the middle, they're really not that hard to figure out, but you can tell out of towners rather quickly

Carnator369 t1_ja5rko1 wrote

To be fair, they have to use them counter-clockwise, which is counterintuitive...

We have lots of roundabouts here in the US. Also no one can properly use one here.

Brett707 t1_ja668bu wrote

I don't have an issue with them. It's just that many here are designed all fucked up. Like one where I live has 4 lanes into it at one entrance that goes to 2 lanes in the circle Then to 1 then back to 3 back to 2.

Seen a Honda on top of the rock that was artistically placed in the middle of a roundabout. People are idiots.

Vincent d'Onofrio doesn't get enough created for all the amazingly diverse villains he plays.

This guy. Private Pyle. Psycopath from The Cell. Poohbear. Kingpin. Orson Welles.

You dont' even know it's him until you read the credits.

Roundabouts have been in Europe for a very long time.
It took a while, but the US is now catching up.
Before they somehow refused, as it is more difficult for a truck to get around a roundabout.

But it is a silly thing to make fun of Americans though.
Plenty of better reasons.

One time my brother was driving to Walmart and me in the passenger seat got to witness him go straight through and over a roundabout they had just put up near the Walmart to help with traffic jams. It was low enough that we just felt a bump and could go straight over the forbidden circle. I still give him shit for it to this day.
