I have only ever lived in and had a license in NJ. I just moved to FL. I need to get a FL license and register my car here, registration expires end of this month (January). The DMV here told me I am on some national registry for a violation in Massachusetts and can't get my license here until that after is resolved. I've only ever been to Mass one time in 2015 and got a speeding ticket, took care of it, done, over. Apparently the offense that is currently preventing me from doing anything with my license is some kind of violation from 2001...I was 10 years old and living in NJ at that time... impossible and clearly some clerical error on their end. No matter how often I call, nobody answers the phone at the RMV, I even tried calling AAA in Springfield, no answer... PLEASE HELP! If I can't resolve this in the next week I'll lose my job. How can i get in touch with someone ASAP to help?!

Nothing beats speaking to someone on the phone, but I have had incredible luck with the RMV "contact us" form. I've received an email back within a few hours with all the info clearly spelled out... and it was an actual person, so then I could email back and forth. They even offered to speak to me on the phone.

Put your story with all your details in the "contact us" form... and keep trying to call the 1800 number.

Good luck!

Someone should pick up the phone at the RMV although it's about a two hour wait to get representative.

I could only say if things don't improve get an attorney

I've called everyday for weeks and it puts me on hold for an hour and then hangs up, every single time.

I went through this in the reverse. MA flagged me for a GA violation. I had never been to GA and was fully licensed in CA.

I had to get a "Not Same As" letter because they confused me with someone else who had info nearly identical to mine. It took me about a month of phone calls to get the letter. You might get redirected to courts and police but MA RMV owes you that letter.

Try getting a hold of someone in the points / violations division. They should have basic info on the person you're probably getting confused with.
