Is the trail icy?

I've lived within 20 minutes of Watatic for most of my life (10 minutes for the last 25 years) and have only hiked up it once, and that was fairly recently.

It does give a great view of North Central Mass.

I'm not OP but I would think that the trail would be icy this time of year. Even in this kind of weather the trails are fairly busy and the packed snow will end up freezing.

Makes sense, I guess the proper footwear is required

Most of the guys will envy of your location because it's great hike for beginners and also to regular hikers.

One of my favorite places to go. I was up there Saturday, and it was phenomenal. I appreciate having a mountain nearby that’s in a mostly natural state.

MT Watatic is one of our best kept secrets. It's nearby, a relatively easy hike, and gorgeous views.

So coincidental I was talking to my wife all the way that after hiking Mt Fuji I am so appreciative to the natural looking trails. Not a big fan of concrete type trails.

Watatic is one of my favorite central MA hikes. Not too strenuous and with great views.
