Auto Transport Carriers in MA

Hello there,

I am relocating and want to ship my Toyota to Northern Cal. Does anyone have personal experience with Auto Transport Carriers in the area? I would like to avoid brokers and preferably find a company that has its own truck and drivers on staff. Any pointers would be highly appreciated! Thank you!

I have only shipped one car and I can tell you pay the extra amount for the guys who know what they are doing. Seeing most of the runs appear to be from Here to Florida or Texas it will most likely cost extra. I did one cheap haul from AZ a few years ago and I think it was $1200. But a fender was bent in the process. Royal pain in the ass.

A friend of mine took one to Florida. They held her car unless she paid a "supply chain issue" fee. Be careful and get everything written down.

My dad did this in the other direction, avoiding brokers is tough, because that’s how the industry works, but you should try to find a driver direct.

Also just a heads up if you don’t know: you have to have a few days to weeks window to be around for pick up because they have to drive around filling the trailer around the region. Also you have to be at the end destination to receive car and they will tell you the day regardless of your schedule.

I have used uship.com a few times to find a transporter and it worked great every time. You put in the details and shippers bid on the job.

Have used both large companies and owner/operators on there.

I don’t, but the quotes you get will depend on which companies have trucks or truck space on the route you’re looking to go. You’ll be able to see ratings of the shipper and if they are big or small. You can also chat with the shipper before committing.
If I were you I’d just put your route in to see what shippers and price comes up. It’s really no commitment.

Besides the independents, LTL carriers such as Forward Air deal in automotive transport as well.

Someone else mentioned uship, they are on that platform as well.
