Quick facts:

The name of the place is “Used Book Superstore”.

It’s at 256 Cambridge St, Burlington.

I live in Burlington, this place is fantastic. I highly encourage anyone to come by to visit this, and follow up with ice cream from School House Ice Cream in the next plaza.

I'm actually working my way through visiting every used Bookstore in New England. There are more than you might think.

Great store. I can never talk them up enough. I'm always picking up something every time I'm there.

Love that place. Also, New England needs Half Price Books to open up here.

I NEED this place in my life.

I know where I’m doing most of my Xmas shopping this year.

I've cleaned out my closets, attic and shelves to donate many books to the store. Its a win-win for a great store.

Hate to burst everyones bubble here but the owners a douche.. He lied about donating to charity from the proceeds of all donated books. Very greedy and a trump supporter..

I worked for him briefly around 2015.

My picks for best ma book shops are the Montague Bookmill and Grey Matter

Love both of those. I'll also add Raven used books. They have locations in Cambridge and North Hampton.

Their trade in is a little disappointing, I can show up with 10 books for trade-in and get maybe $20 in store credit.

They know most of their inventory will never move and it’s a way to deter you/protect whatever margin they have if any of it eventually sells.

Do they still have the program where you buy certain new books from them and they guarantee 50% trade in credit value when you return it?

TheLyz t1_iz4o8wu wrote

Yup, as long as you do it within 60 days, so you basically have to read it fast.

Yeah they're 45 minutes away from me so I don't go there that often.

Sounds reasonable to me for a used book market.

If you have an extraordinary collection, contact Brattle. Be prepared for them to be unimpressed.

I guess it's just shocking because when I was downsizing my manga collection I was making bank but that was a lot more volumes. Ah well.
