That tree is not going to be happy if it spends energy flowering right before a frost.

I planted some spring blooming perennials earlier in the fall… Some of them are already starting to come up. Yeah. Not normal.

Do you hear about the ozone damage anymore, no because we solved that. Do you hear about smog anymore, no we solved for that too. We’ll solve Co2 emissions as well, but like the rest it will take time and legislation. We could solve gun violence just as easily if not for knuckle dragging Republicans.

My magnolia flowered twice this year. Once in the spring like normal and again in October. No idea why other than the weather has been so entirely whack.

Yes, my holly bush is in full bloom. No red berries next year. And my neighbor’s cherry tree is flowering.

Or we could consider the recent IPCC statement, global emissions need to drop 42% by 2030, but are projected to rise 10%.

The rate of change (warming) is accelerating. So the difference between every year should knock our socks off more than the previous year.

flamethrower2 t1_iw2dchl wrote

Emissions are global (what anyone burns affects everyone worldwide) and global emissions won't peak until 2030 according to estimates. Emissions have already peaked and are now falling in the US. That has localized effects on public health but won't help climate change.

Sealioning

>Sealioning (also sea-lioning and sea lioning) is a type of trolling or harassment that consists of pursuing people with relentless requests for evidence, often tangential or previously addressed, while maintaining a pretense of civility and sincerity ("I'm just trying to have a debate"), and feigning ignorance of the subject matter. It may take the form of "incessant, bad-faith invitations to engage in debate", and has been likened to a denial-of-service attack targeted at human beings. The term originated with a 2014 strip of the webcomic Wondermark by David Malki, which The Independent called, "the most apt description of Twitter you'll ever see".

Yes, another November day in the 70s with a dew point in the mid 60s. I just love having to run my AC just to take the edge off the humidity in mid-November......
