The main difficulty with Healey, IMHO, is that she is a machine politician. It's been good to balance the excesses of the Democrats in MA with someone like Baker, and that balance will be missed. OTOH, Healey is not Elizabeth Warren. She's a lefty, to be sure, but as someone who has worked the legal system all of her life, she's well aware of the power of institutions in public life. That is, she's a lefty but not a bomb-thrower where institutions are concerned.

Much of the GOP in MA right now with the exception of Baker and his administration seems inhabited by anti-institutionalist MAGA types. I'm a liberal, but I also don't want my government torn down a remade, by either side.

Until they clean house, they will never get another governor elected.

Judging by the way CA has gone it’ll take decades for that to happen. They haven’t elected a GOP Governor since ‘06 and their state party has gone more and more right. Seems to me like our state GOP followed suit
