Don’t. Or at bare minimum, don’t drive in.

A few years back someone managed to flip their car onto its roof on Essex St, near the intersection with Flint St.

Honestly I was kinda “impressed”; must’ve hit the curbs and bounced like a pinball with some reckless precision (it was a coupe so pretty small).

You don’t want to do this. Salem during Halloween is a crazy place, crowds, traffic, no parking. Seriously, don’t go there now.

Hop the commuter rail and go in that way. Brings your own snacks because unless you make a reservation somewhere a day or two before you go, you ain't eating in a restaurant.

Don't do it. Check the videos of the crowds there this month. It's worse than it's ever been. You won't be able to get into a single place, lines go on forever. Unless you have reservations or bring your own, you can forget about food. Bathrooms are a struggle. You can't drive in, there is no parking. It's honestly not worth it. Wait until next year and go late September. Still tons of fun and lots of people, but you can actually get into stores and museums.

If you’re interested in getting into a museum or restaurant, make reservations! The Salem Witch Museum opens same day reservations only at midnight, so try that if you want to get in. As others have said, take the commuter rail, and pack snacks and water. Last, do dress in costume and have a great time!

Do be kind to residents, restaurant personnel, store owners, etc who are doing the best they can to help everyone have a great time under challenging circumstances.

Living in Salem has taught me one thing during October…don’t drive

Just do the witch trial tours. I’ve done plenty and there all fun. One, I remember, I got to act as if I were in the court room pretending to be the jury and another was a roller coaster sorta thing that took me on a tour of the process of a witch trial. It was different stations and each station was made up of huge creepy animatronics of people and the devil was in the background too and people would jump out at you every once in a while for a jumpscare
