Does anyone have any suggestions for Central Mass. affordable fencing? Under $10k?? It isn't a large yard and it's a relatively small space within that yard. Every quote we get is $11-15k.

Watch some YouTube videos, dig out the boom box, buy a case of beer and some pizzas, invite friends over for a fence day.

It's mostly on the material end, fencing products are almost double a couple year's ago price.

What's it for?

For our dog we did just a spool of fencing for my dog. I spent a couple hundred bucks,

Just get a post hole diggers and go to town. Once you get the holes dug it’s pretty easy work.

Easiest way to make it straight is to put a peg into the ground and to tie string around it, then run a straight line to where you want the fence to run and pull it straight. That will tell you where to dig the holes, and you can do it again when filling the holes with posts in it to make sure they are completely level.

What length of fencing? How high? What material (wood/vinyl?)

I used a company called fence labor. This was a few years ago and they may not be in business still. But I did all the ordering of material and had it all delivered. They just showed up and banged out 200’ if fence in a day and a half. They charged me $1800(2019). I think I spent 2500 on materials. But since I was ordering there was no markup.

In western mass, I ended up putting in a welded wire fence by myself after similar quotes - cost about $600 and a couple days work after watching some YouTube videos
