Disqualified from jury duty, but not sure why

I recently got Mail that I am summoned for jury duty in a few months. I went to www.majury.com and entered in my badgeId, pin, zipcode and see a message that says “The Office of Jury Commissioner has DISQUALIFIED you from service based on the information you supplied to this office in your disqualification request. YOU SHOULD NOT REPORT FOR SERVICE.

You will receive written notification of your disqualification by mail in 7-10 days from the date of disqualification. Depending on the reason for the disqualification, you may be summoned for juror service again as early as next year. Thank you for using the Massachusetts Juror Service Website.”

I did not submit any sort of disqualification, so I am confused by this message.

Any advice on what to do? Is this normal? Or a glitch in their system?

I want to call the jurors office but also wouldn’t do want to get “un-disqualified” lol

Hold on to the disqualification notice so that in case it was a mistake you can show it for proof that you were excused from jury duty in case you get fined for not showing up.It could have been a error and meant for another person so just keep the notice for proof.

I had a friend who moved to Pennsylvania but Massachusetts didn't do their homework and he years later found he had a misdomeanor record and a $1000 fine against him.He had to show proof of a PA residence before the mailing date of the jury summons,yea mistakes happen!

I hope you did a screen capture of the message or received an email notification of the same. I've only once received a jury summons and it was in MA back in the 1980s. We had already moved to NH and I went back a month later to collect any mail that they had for me. There was a jury summons and I just sent them a note indicating that I no longer resided in the state. Back then everything was done by mail or phone or in-person as the public internet didn't exist back then. I've never been summoned after that and I'm in my 60s. Our son has been for Grand Jury service.

Why do you think you have to do anything? It sounds pretty clear. Do not report for service. That’s the end of that. Could be a million reasons why they disqualified you and you will have no way to find out. Nothing more to do on your end.

I get called from Jury duty almost every year and they wait till the last second to say I am not needed. Hold on to this DQ and send it along with any other correspondence you get.

You are lucky, I just had to show up for jury service, it was terrible. I had to wake up at like 5:30 to make it an hour and a half away and then they moved us out of a jury room to a courtroom, then decided to interview jurors individually so they made like 75 people wait out in the hallway. For 4 hours.

personal experience - one time I served on a jury and then was resummoned within the 3 year period with which you cannot be summoned. So I called and told them and they excused me (I had proof of my previous summons). It was funny, my name came up like 2 years 8 months later, so just inside the window.

I feel like as long as you have the written notice as proof then you are going to be all good. Mistakes happen. Just follow up if you don't get that proof...

I dont know if i trust the system. If the lawyers control the people on the jury, isnt that fixing the results. It should just be random people. They should have to explain why you are disqualified to make sure they arent doing any funny stuff.
