Saw the accident when it happened. Absolutely terrifying. Really hope the motorcyclist comes out of it alright.

Same. Came here to see if there’s been any update. Very sad for so many reasons: Cyclist got clipped, driver looked like a young kid who was really beside himself, rough interaction, etc. Cops, an ambulance, and a fire truck came within a couple minutes. Just a really nasty accident. Gotta hope the person is all right.

Oddly enough, I was there later as the cops were talking to the person in the SUV and it was a middle-aged lady who was the person they said was driving.

Yeah, it was the lady's kids that came out at first to let people know they didn't drive away. Mom must have been too much in shock to get out initially. I can't imagine how they were feeling.

Very well could’ve been! I shouldn’t speculate or assume; but yeah, there were a lot of distraught people around.

Grand Street intersections are so dangerous, even after lane reductions and new painted lines. Dangerous mostly for pedestrians and bikes, but even cars and motorcycles apparently. Something serious needs to be done.

As long as this town continues to allow the right on red, we pedestrians are screwed. NYC stopped it long ago, and it's a MUCH safer place to walk.

Means nothing without proper traffic law enforcement, which JCPD is notoriously bad at — especially in Downtown JC.

Getting rid of red light and speed cameras has to be one of the worst policy decisions in NJ state history.
