Hi all,

I'm moving to Jersey City from out of state. I'm looking for a 2 bed 2 bath apartment to rent beginning Jan/Feb. I'll be commuting to NYC for work so I'm looking for a place that is within walkable distance to a PATH station (newport, grove st, or exchange pl). It'll be great if the two rooms are similar in size since I'll be sharing the apartment. Bonus if there's a fitness center in the condo but not a deal breaker. Our budget for the place is around $5,600 total.

So far I've identified the Emerald, Avalon Cove, The BLVD collection, Parkside West, and 65 Bay as potential places to view. I've read the reviews online and in other posts but can any current/previous tenants comment on these places? in terms of responsive of management, pests issues, elevator problems, etc. Or please feel free to drop other recommendations. I'm also open to renting from owners/landlords if anyone has any leads.

I'll be visiting the city for a day or two soon and was hoping to shortlist a couple of places for viewing.

Thanks!!

It's not normal to use realtors for apartment shopping, and folks moving here from out of state will likely have no idea that's a normal thing. Sure it's normal for this area, but it's not normal in this country.

With that budget you have a lot of options. Look at Dvora, Reventment, 18 Park, Hamilton House, Portside Towers, Hudson Point, Liberty House, VYV, truly so many options.

Have you budgeted in the yearly 20% price increases? I hope your raises are going to be hella phat

True story. Go to a Silverman building where the rent increases are normal and fair.
