Stores are not insured against shoplifting. This is such a common misconception that people keep parroting.

It does. Shoplifting losses get passed on to regular consumers in the form of price increases. If it’s too prevalent stores just close which means people lose their jobs and the city loses sales tax revenue.

And we’re supposed to feel bad for a mega corporation for losing 20k while no employees got hurt ? I understand if a mom and pop shop gets robbed but this is something that literally is a blip in a mega verse of money

I think you’re just butt hurt that pretty boy Fulop makes it look like the city is cleaned up when in reality it’s not. This kind of stuff happens.

Butt hurt is not the phrase I would use. I’m from here. I just moved back after 7 years and it’s incredibly disappointing to see little progress in addressing the problems of the area. What makes me “butt hurt” is that people see problems and don’t care/don’t do anything to solve them.
