Nope I would not but I do I feel empathy for the folks that deliver to me at my bf 4th floor walk up - stairs arent for everyone.

I paid ridiculous fees to have it delivered to my door per instructions. Not to the lobby because someone's unhappy about having to take an elevator ride.

yeah i've thought this out too, it almost defeats the purpose of ordering if you're already out the door for your food in the lobby.

still curious if whether or not it'd be better for folks

How many people you deliver to select of "meet outside"- it's listed as an option?

It's almost the same thing because it involves leaving the apt and I'm guessing its not many but still curious.

rarely.

it's usually folks that live in brownstones or anywhere past or around journal square, as far as high rises it's usually drop and go.

& i get it. i don't want to talk to anyone or get on the phone about an order i just want it at my front door asap lmao.

If I knew I’d have to go to the lobby I honestly might not even order food delivery lol. Might as well just walk to pick up my food at that point. Sorry friend, I do hit the max tip button on every delivery and Im NOT putting on pants 😂

that said, there are less-lazy reasons people may need delivery to their door. Maybe they’re injured or quarantined. I remember ordering food one time when I had covid trying not to leave my home, and the delivery person left it in my lobby. was a little irritated about that one. Although I definitely understand why the courier could be in a bad place with time/parking and be forced to do a delivery like that.

No. If I’m ordering delivery for lunch, I’m too busy to go downstairs or cook lunch. If I’m ordering on a Friday night, I’m already in my pajamas and the entire point of delivery is so I don’t need to leave my apartment. We’re paying the fees and tip for a reason.
