I love the charm of the old walk-up buildings, but also love the central air and elevator at the high-rises. Sigh! You can't have it all.

Lots of the hi rises have PTACs not central air

Yeah the developers are not splurging for central air in most of these places. You get a PTAC with electric heat which is the most expensive way possible to heat a house. I will take landlord paid radiators any day.

My walk up has central air and is only up one flight. Easy to filter for this type of thing on Zillow/Redfin or whatever app you use
