Do we need rezos?
There might be a wait, I'd make a res to be on the safe side.
Love pink so this is up my alley
Hamilton Inn. Walk around the park maybe stop by word bookstore. See the chickens on your way to Torico for ice cream then barcarde.
Love the Erie chicken reference
Those chickens are wholesome. It’ll add for a memorable date.
I gotta know if I can buy their eggs
Do you think we need reservations?
Multiple times I’ve never had.
I would make reservations, last thing you want on a date is to look like you don’t have shit planned out, maybe that’s just me and my twice exceptionalism
Lighthorse Tavern in Paulus Hook has a great brunch menu, the inside is a nice romantic atmosphere, and on a nice day the outdoor seating is on a pretty block. You can walk the waterfront afterward. I’d recommend reservations and you could even specify for a more private booth or table if you like.
Those lemon ricotta pancakes are awesome
Thank you, menu looks good
Lighthouse tavern is a great suggestion.
Skinner's Loft used to be a solid spot for brunch dates and first dates. Good, solid menu, good beers on tap, and decent wine list. Service was always great, too. Haven't been in a while, so perhaps someone else can chime in with a more up-to-date take.
Thank youuuuu!! I hope someone chimes in on this
In second this! The place is beautiful upstairs and they will be opening the roof soon! Good luck
Thank you 😊
Agreed with this! Skinner's has been a neighborhood staple for years. It's a classic restaurant. The negative comment below seems to be more interested in trendy places. I didn't suggest it because I don't really view it as a date spot per se but I enjoy it every time I go and I personally view it as a nice alternate to all of the new trendy stuff around it. If going for a first date, I would recommend sitting on the rooftop if it's nice enough and they've opened it for the season. It's gorgeous.
Uhh. . . I don't usually chime in to be negative, unless it's about Paul Fireman or Amy DeGise, but I don't like their food. Maybe we've always gone at off times, but it's always been bland, over-cooked, and unimaginative to start with.
I would say Hamilton Pork. Or closer to that area, Hudson Hound, which has excellent cocktails. Their food menu is limited but well-executed, so look at it beforehand and see if there's anything that interests you.
Thank you so much for your input!!
I just should also say, Hudson Hound's cocktails are beautiful. Well-executed pieces of art. The Lady Lavender in particular is delicious, but also exquisitely photo-worthy. If that factors into your first date logic, let it be known.
On the other hand, the best thing on their menu is the adobo wings, and nobody has ever suggested that I look attractive while eating wings. "What is wrong with you?" is a more common comment than "you look cute."
Their dinner is meh, but I've always liked the brunch at Skinners.

FYI skinners only has brunch Sundays- just went this past weekend, was good! Walk in only though. We went around 12:15 and sat right away
Satis. Mathews. Hamilton inn.
Reservations needed at any of those places?
Maybe Mathews or Hamilton Inn if you're going well after opening. But at opening no. I always try to do brunch right at 11 and have never had an issue.
Perfect! Thank you!!
Skip Matthews food is bland. Probably the only restaurant without a box of diamond crystal. Drinks are good though.
Newport food court got one good options. Might need a reservation after 5p
Thank you!!
The kitchen step!
Sam AM is a nice, upscale brunch place downtown. Cafe Alyce is a nice, upscale brunch place near McGinley Square.
And Larsen's Diner doesn't look like much from the outside (it's a dingy old building wedged in between two dollar stores on Communipaw), but the food is terrific. Maybe not a first date spot, but a place to go to often if that first date pans out...

The Cliff on Congress St
Sweet - I was curious about spots in the Heights!
If you're looking in the heights the Hutton is great!
Agreed!
Used to love the Hutton but lately their food has been just fine instead of good, in my opinion.
This place didn't do it for me. Service was fine, but I thought it was cramped and I walked away not entirely full from my meal.

Frankie. Very soothing colors (lots of pink and pink is the color of love) and great drinks (they have an above average wine list with some unique stuff in there).
