There are four approved cannabis locations in downtown and three locations in the heights! The rest of JC gets one location per neighborhood.

Part of the problem is the zoning rules are strict and favor everything north of Montgomery. Once the SBA and lenders start lending more and stacking federal credits, you'll see a more even distribution.

Do you know when these are opening btw?

Not for another six months or so. I think Blossom Dispensary was the first JC dispensary to go through the approval process and they're expecting to open this Fall.

For a such a so called progressive town there so many NIMBY in this damn place. Meanwhile these concerned parents are walking around full of Klonopin and Xanax. Chased with their merlot filled Stanley canteen.

Pretty much everywhere you find homeowners you find NIMBYs. I mean California, especially San Francisco, might be ground zero for the whole NIMBY movement.

They definitely aren't progressives, that would be something akin to AOC or Bernie. They're just white liberals. They'll have all the flags and shit but when it comes down to actual changing things they're no where to be seen.

If you're rich or white you should purposely avoid ever moving in next to a minority or patronizing any business in a minority area and only move to exclusive 95% white ethnosuburbs. That's how we achieve justice ✊️

Do you believe white people should avoid moving to places with minorities? No? Then I'm not referring to you.

Look at the number of towns in this state that refuse to let dispensaries set up shop even though the majority of their voters wanted to legalize weed. It's all over.

All you need to do is read this sub. It’s all cop-loving nimbys who can’t stand anything that was part of JC before they moved in

lastinglovehandles t1_jctvz8x wrote

I thought NextDoor was bad but this sub is worse. Fucking JC Facebook must be hell on earth.

Bro you don’t even know. I moved from JC to South Orange which is really South Orange/Maplewood and both towns are PROGRESSIVE. However everyone are NIMBY’s. Maplewood completely banned gas leaf blowers and there’s been fights breaking out in the Facebook group between the pro leaf blower and anti leaf blower coalitions.

That said, everyone is pretty pro dispensaries here.

In modern day, being okay with weed in an area is so much separated by political party anymore, I’m from jersey and know a HELL OF A LOT more right leaning people that smoke weed than left leaning, I can’t count the amount of people on the left I know who smoke on my 2 hands, but I know atleast a hundered people, mostly from school (cus every kid and their cousin smoked at my school) who identify as right and smoke. And I grow up in a suburban area, not quite white picket fence but def tons of entitled white people. Most of the 30y/o+ people in this area are left, and don’t really like it, but 80% or so of my generation are right, and a similar percentage smokes. It’s funny how things change because 50 years ago it would be the complete opposite, even less of a time frame.
