I was just there a week or two ago and it is coming along nicely.

Did anyone else notice all the rats that came out at night when they dug up the ground around the statue? I think they disturbed a nest or something.
Another case of Fulop pushing out long-time residents to advance his agenda, smh. /s

It wasn't an eviction, the family was forced to move because of the tax hikes.

I have been there and this is great. They have bollards to keep cars out too.

Hope they replant those trees in front of the Starbucks. Looks like a desolate wasteland now.

Anyone else walk by everyday to get to the path and avoid the path elevator entrance to get to the other entrance?

I always avoid the elevator entrance unless I'm on crutches.

This color again. The one on Newark avenue looked so dirty just a few days after it was finished

Was a good time to move the statue towards to water or along a bit. It would be nice to have more space there.

Fulop himself almost got bayoneted for trying to move it in the past. Don’t think he’d try again at this point. Interesting story.

Yeah after what Russia has been up to since it seems even more relevant. Just the people who complained didn't actually live here which makes it more annoying.

There was a plan to move it either out of the plaza entirely into its own park or down closer to the water/out of the flow of traffic, and a local group sued to stop it. They argued many things, the most interesting of which was that the artist's original intent placed it exactly where it is now due to how the sun sets across the river. There are actually laws out there that prevent the removal of statues if such removal would ruin the artist's original intent for the statue. The local group obviously won the argument...and I know because I was one of the attorneys who did the research and wrote the briefs for this very case.

The playground is crazy tall. I’d be kind of nervous to let my kid go on top of that thing.

Stabby statue seems rather timely in light of Russian atrocities in Ukraine. Maybe can amend the statue to say Ukraine 2022.

Didn’t expect a playground, that’s nice
