If your phone was stolen, report it to the police and ask them to retrieve it.

I already reported but they said they cannot do anything about it since they don’t know who has it and I realize it was stolen after they took it.

You can show them the location of the device and they can go investigate.

Remote erased the device so they can’t use it

I set it to lost mode with hopes they turn it on at some point and I have a location

Let’s hope you get that phone back soon. If you don’t, you’re eventually gonna have to remote wipe it unless you want your information out there but it’s going to be useless to the thief because it’s iCloud locked.

More recent iPhone models can report their location even while turned off, as long as there is someone else near it with a turned on iPhone. It sounds a bit like this has happened.

Be careful of phishing messages from the thief that they may send you, if they message you "your iphone has been found, see live location" that is a phishing attempt from the thief to take your phone off activation lock.

I don’t think any police force accepts Find My as substantial cause to enter a private property. Certainly don’t in the UK.

Thanks very much. Haven’t received anything and the phone is still dead. I deleted everything and set a message so they can contact me once they realize the phone cannot be used.

I mean, it pisses me off that somebody can be that evil and idiot at the same time. They ruined my holiday in order to have a useless 1000$ brick. Like they haven’t even turned it on. I feel so powerless.
