I was at a music festival where there was no mobile network. Everytime I pulled my phone out there was a drop. I can understand the phone was always looking for the network to catch but the drain was a bitch.

You should have put it to flight mode if you knew that there will not be coverage

Phone should probably alert you if you’ve been without coverage for X amount of time to do that to save battery.

That's a good idea. If it's not already a feature - I've no idea - it may be worth suggesting it to Apple.

In places with poor network coverage, airplane mode is super helpful. Especially if they have Wi-Fi.

Many people don’t realise you can enable airplane mode and then enable Wi-Fi, so your phone won’t look for a signal but Wi-Fi will still work.
