Okay I love the wrap that’s so dope!!

I have the clear OtterBox Pop Symmetry I believe, and I wanna change up the look of my 12 Pro. Maybe I’ll order a wrap for it!

I prefer skins over cases but I have to protect my phone from other people. So a case is needed at times. You should try different protective coverings I learned that it helps with the resell or trade in value.

Ok, I might order the clear case next week. I thought the kickstand would add that extra weight I didn't want. The pro series are heavy out the box. Having multiple light clear cases is a must for me.

I use Apple leather case. Even though the quality is next to nothing when compared to the old leather cases, It's still not bad enough to compare with cheapo plastics. If I try to import other brand's leather cases to my country, It costs me probably double for what I paid for Apple one. To be fair, Apple case is not the worst quality though. It's just not as good.

I also use spells and curses of three lonely witches but that's another story.

I have the same case on it, just the camo version. The front got whitestone dome glass (I am really satisfied with that, so I always go with them even they are so expensive) and the cameras have the normal single piece stick on glass protector.

Glass screen/camera protector from Amazon + Mous 5.0 leather case.

My usual tradition is to use my phone with the case for a bit, and when i feel comfortable enough for an upgrade, ill go full naked and use it freely.

For anyone curious, the Mous 5.0 case is pretty nice. It’s not the cheapest case but it feels nice and protective. For me, it made the phone bulkier than i was expecting..especially the width, but ive gotten used to it.

I believe you’re much more likely to scratch the screen(or back glass even) than the camera. The lenses are still (to my knowledge) sapphire crystal (ever since the 6 I believe?) so while it’s not impossible it would take placing it on like rough concrete for it to be truly affected imo.

3

mgnwlf t1_j60w2iz wrote

Interesting. I just looked into the apple watches screen (i still have the series 4) & its the Ion-X & mine has taken a couple hard hits &there's hardly any scratches. & according to google the sapphire is harder compared to the ion x. So I think that eases my worries a little bit.

1

Bishime t1_j610mkc wrote

Yes, ion-x is apple (and I guess the industries) best attempt at mimicking sapphire crystal. Its the best they can do to minimize the price on the watches but they’ll likely never replace it for camera lenses until they synthesize new glass tech.

at the end of the day, for even more peace of mind, you’d need something with a hardness scale of 9 to scratch sapphire crystal. So you’d basically need to be putting it camera down on sand paper (which includes materials like corundum—H9 hardness) to scratch it.

For even more reference/reassurance— sapphire crystal sits next to diamond on the hardness scale. Whereas even Ion-X glass sits a lot closer to quarts.

Basically the metal lining the camera and the back glass itself will scratch way before the lenses on the camera. Even putting your phone in a pocket or bag with keys will destroy the screen before you notice a nick on the camera lens

Hope that helps ease the mind. Also not to sub-nerd out on glass lmao, it’s kinda crazy how far we’ve come
