I keep my iOS 15 updated to the latest for security fixes. New iOS versions don’t always mean more stability. My partner updated and sometimes has weird things happen in Mail, for example.

What did I miss? Security, stability…

Are you on 15.7.2?
jowie1974 OP t1_j6cpk7x wrote
Actually no, 15.6.1. Is there a way of updating to 15.7.2 rather than 16.3?

Before they were still pushing iOS 15 based updates to those still on iOS 15 (they still do for iPadOS), so I’m not sure.
Honestly in the end it’s up to you if you want to stay, yes ios 16 gives the latest in security and feature updates, but honestly it’s consistently more buggy than iOS 15 was for me (Honestly I wish Apple would focus more on bug fixing than more features for once)

Yeah this is my main reason for the question. I’m fed up with regret when updating software, when everything is working so well.

I downgraded my iPad (Pro 11” 2020) down to 15.6.1 RC (because for some reason Apple is still signing it) due to bugs I was having on 16.2.1. In the end it’s up to you what you want to do

There’s something called “DelayOTA”, it’s a method which “delays” your updates afaik, but i don’t think i can talk about exploits here.

It might be too late anyway. My phone is already telling me to install 16.3.

That doesn't matter, when you want to DelayOTA

Well if we’re talking about features and not security, I have yet to see anything in iOS 16 that’s useful to me. Although I’ve not checked out the updates to Focus, so will definitely look into that.
