Hello, Like in title. Does anyone tried “touchscreen/glass only repairs? I mean my iPhone is pretty scratched but the screen is 100% fine with not issues(it’s just damn ugly). I found some Apple service(Not authorised) that provides this type of service. Service consists in separating the glass from the display and replacing it. I’m not sure that does new glass will be original or not. Maybe someone of you tried this method?

Yeah I saw few videos like that and they look like “home made” a bit. Maybe I’m wrong but this service is Apple signed not just random “phone fix-point”. I’m pretty sure they have specialised tools to make repairs like that. But I could be wrong also. Also they give a 1 year warranty for they repairs.

This screen protector looks fine but I think it will no cover a lot my scratches. They’re pretty deep :/

I’ve had it done on my iPhone 7, around 3 years ago. But there is a huge risk that the oled panel (main display) may be damaged while separating the touch screen glass from the display assembly. The iPhone 7 is still working flawlessly. But I’ve had a tempered glass screen protector ever since on it.

They give 1 year warranty for they repairs. If they destroy something in the repair time they should put me brand new screen then.

The problem is I will never know did they put original glass or just 3rd party :/ You know, it could make colours weaker etc.

I think tomorrow after work I will visit they point and make few questions about it. I mean what exactly procedures they make and what components they use(on they site they say only OG but well… it’s not whole screen so it could be not OG.

Ohh.. then maybe I will think about it a bit more before I make my decision. Thanks for info!

No no no don’t worry about that. I had already XS Max with pretty good(even repair point said that) LCD replaced screen and I will definitely know it’s not OG Oled screen. Btw I also service phones(for now Android only) at home since few years so I know many things about smartphones.
