I don't even know what it does at this point, I'm just happy it's there to do... something.
Even if that just makes it instantly disappear and nothing else happened.
I'm assuming there's more to it though. Haven't checked.

I believe it sends a report to your cellular provider. This is great because many people didn’t know they could report spam texts to their provider before.

I’ve had occasion to use it twice and if I recall correctly the report goes to Apple. I don’t recall what they do with the information but I doubt that it involves sending in the heavies or other forms of violence. On both occasions my unsolicited messages were pile-of-shit scamming or phishing attempts.

This page has all the info on the feature. Seems the carrier enabling it is probably stopping a lot of people from using this. Personally I don’t get that Report option

When you use iMessage, you can report spam messages to Apple. Depending on your carrier and country or region, you can also report spam you receive with SMS and MMS.
