Prob removed it from the Home Screen.

If you go into the App Library and hold down on the messages app there, you can put it back on the Home Screen.

Swipe all the way to the right. It’s the last page on iOS. It’s all folders with your apps in them. Looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/azUS5jO.jpg
