I have been having a lot of trouble with my iPhone 14 Pro taking photos of the inside of my pocket. This isn't unique to this phone, right? I had this occasionally with my iPhone 11 Pro. But for some reason it is much worse with the 14. There are two parts to this:

  1. Keep phone from turning on accidentally and...
  2. Keep the camera from activating from the lock screen

For #1, I turned off Tap or Swipe to Wake in Settings->Accessibility->Touch. That makes it so you have to use the power button to wake the phone. Not so nice, but I can live with that.

However, I just looked at my phone and found another 40 photos and videos of the inside of my pocket after disabling Tap or Swipe to Wake.

For #2, I found a suggestion somewhere to disallow the camera app in Screen Time settings, thus also removing the camera app from the lock screen. I could live with that, by using Halide as my camera app, but for some reason, prohibiting the camera app also breaks Halide, and I would be left with no way to take photos. (One of the reasons for getting the 14 Pro.)

Does anyone know of any way to remove the camera app from the lock screen??? I would like to use the normal camera app, but don't want it accessible from the lock screen. Any ideas? Any idea if Apple will fix this?? Thanks!

I solved it by disabling unlock with apple watch under Face ID and passcode. Have you that enabled?

I’ve never had this probables with any iPhone. When it’s locked the screen should never come on unless you tap it

Yes, but somehow the pocket photos and the flash coming on in my pocket have not happened since 🤷🏻‍♂️ Maybe just a coincidence but worth a try.

Thanks for the link. These are the same instructions I found for disabling the camera. Unfortunately this not only disables the Apple "Camera" app, but other camera Apps as well. (At least one other one.) This is not an acceptable solution for me.
