My daughter's iPhone screen damaged on the left side of the screen and her passcode has a "1" in it that is the only one of the keys in her passcode that doesn't work. Her phone needs passcode entered to login and get her photos off of it. Unfortunately, everything was backed up via iCloud but a good portion of her photos didn't get backed up. I was wondering if there are any idea how to get into her phone. I have the passcode and can see the right 2 columns of the passcode keys and that part works but the left column of numerical keys doesn't. I tried recovery mode but that seems to just prompt for iOS refresh and resets. I don't want to reset because I'm trying to preserve the photos on her phone. I have computers to hook it up to but passcode is needed to be entered in order to select "Trust Computer" so it can be seen by computer. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I think your cheapest option would be to get the screen fixed at a 3rd party, it will allow you to get into the phone. Then if you want to upgrade to a newer device you can just store it as a backup phone.

My iPhone 8 has seen some damage over the years. One feature that is worth turning on is the double tap on the home button (tap not push) that brings the whole screen to a lover level.

I think you need to go to accessibility, touch & turn on reachability. Not sure if it’s on by default but worth a try.

If that fails looks like y’all are in for a new screen

I was able to use 1 or 2 pixels and get that right side of the number 1 and get in with some patience. Got all her photos saved. I appreciate everyones help! Thanks all that commented.

Well, if you tell siri to turn on a scream reader called voice over. After you are done there, you will just hit the home button, then you will touch the keyboard with one finger. You will see a curser where you can move by swiping one finger left and right. It will be on whatever number, it will read the one it is on. You will double tap to select each number it is on. Afterwards, it will unlock and you will talk to siri again and tell it to turn voiceover off, then you can do what you need from there.

Yeah, i think that is more if you can't see the screen but the screen is still operating from a touch standpoint. This is a different scenario where the screen is damaged (cracked) on the left side and isn't responding to touch.
