I know I can easily exchange the battery, but I would not want to do this in the next few months. What do you guys think?

Should I wait to for the Phone 15

So my parent's are willing to buy me the iPhone 14 Pro next month, but I was wondering if I should wait for the iPhone 15 Pro (Since the price is rumoured to be the same).. My current phone (android) is kinda dying so if Apple delays the launch in September it might be a problem. Also, if i buy any of these iPhones I will keep it for the next 4-5 years minimum. I care about the camera, bezels and the aesthetics. Not sure if I would love the Titanium finish that's been rumoured, everything else seems great. Any opinions?

Hey all, I currently use a LG Stylo 6 that is starting to give me problems (Random freezes and just a pain to use compared to the Samsung J2 I used before). I'm thinking of buying an Iphone 12 (Regular size with 64gb). Would this be a good buy for aomeone who has never owned an Iphone? Thanks.

Edit: I plan on keeping/using my next phone for the next decade or at tge very least more than 5-7 years.

Depends on if you can wait 6 months on your current phone. There’s always going to be another phone on the horizon, and the 15 is all rumours at this point.

Upgrade now if your current android is going to be a severe detriment to your life, the 14 is no slouch. Wait if you can wait.

fyrelawd t1_jdwckei wrote

Storage in an iPhone is strictly non upgradeable. I would probably be looking at more storage as a baseline. 128gb as a minimum.

The 12 is a solid device and will probably last you a long time, especially if you’re willing to replace the battery.

If you can afford to pay more, the 13 has better cameras and battery. The 14 is not a particularly good value proposition over the 13 so only consider it if you can get a good deal.

I traded my 13pro for a 14pro with the eligible trade-in credit. They said I could get $600 for the condition my phone was in (perfect). Now upon receiving it saying that they've adjusted the trade-in credit by $400 less because they state the display is not functional. The phone was in perfect condition when it left my hand and now they are saying the screen doesn't work. Has anyone dealt with this, or have any tips on how I should approach it? I was hesitant at first because I've never done a trade-in credit, and honestly for my perfectly fine 13pro a $190 credit is not worth it for me.

I'm looking to upgrade my phone next month. I've currently got an iPhone 12 Pro 256gb. I've had the s models and X/Pro models but never had a Pro Max model.

I'm wondering if it's worth the jump instead of getting a 14 Pro but get the 14 Pro Max?

Is the size too much or have other users found it a better user experience in hand?

Any opinions would be great! Thanks

I'm looking to purchase a 1tb 13 pro max or a 1tb 12 pro max since I still need a sim tray.

There seems to be a ~$300-$400 price difference between the 13 pro max and the 12 pro max from looking at various websites, swappa, gazelle, trademore, amazon, archive pages of Apple's refurb site (since 13 pro max is out of stock).

I plan on keeping the phone for ~4-5 years.

The biggest difference between the 12 pro max and the 13 pro max which might justify the price difference to me are 1. faster chip 2. 120hz 3. better battery life.

Unsure if these three differences are enough to justify the price difference.

At a 300-400 dollar difference, I don't think the 13 Pro Max would be worth it. I was recently in this dilemma, and I ended up picking the 12 Pro Max, as they are very similar phones with 5G and whatnot.

Good thing about Apple is they require all apps to be optimized on phones they provide security support for. So everything will run smooth as butter even as it ages.

Currently on the S22 Ultra but after so many issues and a recept trip, I'm thinking about making the jump back to iPhone. (Despite the boastings of the Ultra's battery this...thing...DRAINS). Used to have an iPhone years ago but after I cracked the screen I moved to Pixels (used to be my favorite line of phones) and then Samsungs.

Priorities for me are reliability, battery life, and camera since I like to travel and take a lot of pictures. I also use data, Google Maps, and Spotify simultaneously a lot when I'm driving.

Debating between the 13P or 14P (opting for the smaller model because I kind of miss holding a smaller phone and usually put it in my back pocket). I heard the 14P has some focus issues for subjects close up? Anyway, any feedback would be great, thank you!

I'm currently rocking the OG SE. I've replaced the battery on it once (and apple accidentally bricked the original phone and gave me a new refurbished replacement OG SE). The battery has begun to wear down and given its age, I'm looking into updating to a newer model. I do enjoy having a headphone jack on the SE (my car is old and doesn't have bluetooth, so it is the only way I can listen to podcasts/music), but it looks like there are some affordable lightning to aux adapters available. I'm thinking about going for a 13 mini (for the smaller form factor). I haven't been keeping up with development news, so not sure if/when a new version of the SE might be coming out or when the 15 is due or if it would be worth waiting. Technically I could still pay and have the battery replaced for $69. I don't need or really want to the most cutting edge tech, just need something reliable. Thoughts?

Does Apple ever offer sales/discounts? Or bundle with airpods or accessories on new purchase? I'm a little frugal and trying to upgrade while maximizing value.

It seems as though my iPhone XS is finally out of commission. Took it to authorized service centers, no luck. It was my first ever iPhone (previously a loyal Android user) and I bought it not long after launch, so it's been almost 5 years since, if I'm not mistaken. Really loved and enjoyed using it while I had it.

Now that I'm in the market for a new phone, would you folks recommend the iPhone 14 Pro at this point in time? Specs-wise, I'd assume it's an obvious upgrade across the board since it's a few generations apart, but one thing I've been seeing as concerns about the 14 Pro is the battery life. I'm currently using a family member's old, spare iPhone SE to compensate in the meantime, and the battery life expectedly isn't great (2.5hrs screen on time before it hits 50%). I understand the Max is great with battery, but I'd rather avoid a big phone like that as much as possible as I need to carry a second phone (for work) with me most of the time.

As with my XS, I plan and hope to use my would-be new phone for years to come, hopefully even longer than 4-5 years.

Most people don't seem to have problems with the battery life: https://www.reddit.com/r/iPhone14Pro/comments/121qr80/battery_life_on_the_14_pro/ If there was a widespread battery problem with the 14 Pro, you'd be seeing a lot more complaints on posts like that.

That said, there can sometimes be general battery issues:

  • Social media and music apps can be battery-sucking vampires. If you see poor battery life, check to see which apps are eating your battery (you should have had your iPhone at least a day before checking).

  • Indexing. Not only does your iPhone try to find individuals in your photos, but they're also sorted into categories like animals, food, vehicles, art, music, and others. Your email and text messages are also indexed. Depending upon how much stuff you have, this can take anywhere from moments to a couple days or more, and this indexing will eat your battery while it's ongoing. Your iPhone will be a bit warm while this happens but it shouldn't get hot. Your battery life should return to normal after this.

This indexing happens at each major iOS upgrade (e.g., 15->16), but it can also sometimes happens during an intermediate X.Y upgrade. (It basically happens whenever Apple thinks it needs to happen.)

  • Bugs. Bugs happen. For example when I upgraded from 16.2 to 16.3 (or one of the earlier point releases -- I forget which), my iPhone got hot pretty quickly after the upgrade, even though I wasn't doing anything with it (iPhones can normally get hot when playing games, for example). I did a soft reboot, and everything's been fine since.

I was thinking something like that might help me to be more efficient with taking notes and such.

Is that a thing?

Thanks very much
