I’m guessing you have an ad blocker and it needs the permissions to be granted again.

Then so far I’m only seeing downgrading to 16.3.1 as a solution. Or maybe a backup and restore. It’s definitely not normal behavior.

By many do you mean ALL browsers that you have tried, or most except some? (And what is that some? ;))

Been like this from iOS 16.4 beta 1 through official. Cannot find a fix. Searched the web but it seems few people use beta so nobody was talking about it. My suggestion would be subscribe to Netflix or stop watching p***n on your phone and use your laptop ;)

There used to be a bug far back on iOS i-forgot-which where videos were all audio no video and the fix was to adjust the experimental features in Safari settings. I tried tweaking them a bit but no dice. You can try, but I don’t think it will work for this one.

"Sandbox" is usually a term used for a software testing environment. Maybe this update was not quite ready for release.

You’re statement about the usage of the term “Sandbox” is simply not factual. This is a security mechanism utilized by Operating systems, apps, and especially modern browsers.
