Cracked it out of anger and looked after it pretty well seem like contradictions.

To be quite honest more often than not I find that the people who complain about having an older phone have absolutely trashed it in their ownership to the point that it doesn’t work correctly.

My iPhone X is still working great although it is time for a new battery.

Oh true. I meant up until I cracked it, there was no cracks etc but it was still malfunctioning and all sorts. At that point it was my last straw. & I haven’t trashed my phone at all. I did treasure it but it’s honestly gone bad now. Like I said it’s the whole marketing strategy, they make them slow over the years & there’s nothing I can do about t

Idk why I’m getting downvoted for stating the obvious-

You’re going to get trashed and downvoted (seems you already have) here also.

Apple is a trillion dollar company and if you’re not shilling for them then you’re the bad guy.

Apple doesn’t need aggressive PR because they have more aggressive fanboys.

I have the 14 PM and I mentioned how the battery wasn’t that great for me and I got downvoted to hell 🤣

It’s actually not just me but the 14 pro models haven’t been great for lots of people.

So again, if you’re not saying things like “Apple makes perfect hardware and software” prepare to be trash talked and downvoted to hell.

It’s almost like people are jealous that we have an opinion on a newer phone? Because we aren’t saying “the best purchase of my entire existence!!!!” People think it’s ok to be nasty. I think they don’t like the reality check that new phones≠perfect & there are a lot of flaws in each model that people like to ignore

My only problem with the iPhone 11 and ALL iPhones is how they throttle charging after 85%. I HATE waiting another 40minutes after it gets to 85% to finally see that sweet 100

Your just having issues with your phone. If anything camera quality improves over the years, not get worse. I have several iPhones I test and use on/off and all but the oldest of devices work quite well, including an 11 and while the battery is at 90% health it still runs plenty fast and cameras are as good as day 1. Cracking your phone out of anger could also potentially have consequences and the potential for internal damage in rare cases.

Also at 82% capacity you will need to replace the battery soon and if you’re almost full on storage that can have an impact on device performance.

TWYFAN97 t1_ja5abtj wrote

Literally ALL phones do this. This is because the battery is close to a full charge and the ions in the battery are reaching capacity so if it continues charging at full speed damage can occur to the battery or even worse the battery could quite literally explode due to overheating.

Yes but if you read my post again I state that I was having problems with my phone before the anger incident. I threw my phone because it froze for an hour. The freezing, malfunctioning & glitching happened way before I threw it. It’s really hard to keep storage low on my phone, I have a 64gb so every month I’m sorting through my photos mainly which is stressful but at the time of my purchase, the bigger storage you opt for, the more you pay and i couldn’t afford it.

If as you’ve said been having issues prior to the incident since initial ownership you may have a defective device. Unfortunately since it’s been four years your not covered under warranty for defects.

That’s very interesting. I didn’t know this actually. So is it better to take my phone off charge when it gets to like 85%? Should i not wait until it’s at 100%? Would it be less damaging overall

Ahh I see. I was going to upgrade my phone to possibly a 13 or a 14 but wondered is it worth saving up for the 15? I don’t know a lot about it atm but wondering is it worth waiting for

You could just rephrase that and say you like the rounded edges.

I upvote you man. You are right. I bought iphone 11 in 2022 and i have seen significant downgrade in selfie quality and battery life after ios 16 and i fee that this downgrade is here to stay. I wish I could roll back to ios15 but not possible.

Why claim that the iPhone 11 is better than the future phones? If everything inside gets better, stronger, faster…the only reason could be because OP preferred the design of the iPhone 11 over the next model…the iPhone 12.

I still use my iphone X, haven't noticed any major glitches or slow down on iOS 16. Battery got worse, it's at 87%, but still pretty usable, have to take a power bank for longer trips though. I don't use tiktok, maybe that app is getting bloated and it runs worse on older phones, idk.

Yep. I bought mine back in 2021 but by 2022 it started going downhill & it was so random. Like I said in my post I looked after it well before the incident but despite looking after it, my phone still malfunctioned and all sorts. Someone said it could’ve been a defect

Well it’s certainly not getting better over time, it gradually wears down. All electronics do.

That’s not quite true. There’s plenty of people who have qualms with iPhones, but still appreciate them versus androids. Not everyone is a fanboy addict. I’m appreciative of Apple, and I do love my 13 pro max. But I’m not oblivious to some shortcomings. Every device has some. Thankfully iPhones have less than most.
