After some fairly used years, battery at 82% and software updated to the latest 16.3.1 , my phone is overheating crazy..idk if this is normal, is it advisable to change the battery and push another 2 yrs or switch to a 13.

Ps. I don’t have huge requirements technically, i am a simple user.

That sounds about right lol I have a 12 and my battery is 80%. I’m honestly probably at the point where im Done buying iPhones just because a new one comes out. And im only getting a new one when the battery on this one goes below 70%. So I might just put up with it for another two years and get a new one at that point.

Have you tried doing a hard reset? Is it just on certain programs or websites? I found after the last update zillow causes my phone to overheat. Sam’s club app caused my phone to overheat until I removed it and reinstalled it. If all else fails you might try wiping it and reinstalling from backup. Good luck!🙂

From my experience, GPS and graphic intensive games tend to heat the phone considerably. Your iPhone 11 is still a very decent device and will continue to get software updates for a few more years, I would definitely go with a battery replacement through Apple.

Just upgrade to 13 at this point.

I would first contact Apple support and ask them to run remote diagnostics to check the hardware for any issues - and if that checks out and they believe the overheating is due to a degraded battery and iOS 16 or a software issue, I would spend the $80 for a battery replacement and try to get some more life out of it and wait to see what the iPhone 15 or 16 looks like. The 11 is a great phone even today.

Does it happen with "regular use" or with certain apps? I would assume it’s more of an app thing (especially games n such).

If it happens while calling/messaging it could be a damaged/faulty battery.
