It would have the same numbers if it were the original packaging. But that doesn’t mean you are getting scammed. It just means they used a different this than it came in.

Some people buy/sell phones in bulk. Phone packaging was made to fit the phone it was produced for. So it makes sense to ship it in the same packaging if reselling. You can buy the retail boxes in bulk for this reason.

As long as what was advertised was what you got, I wouldn’t be worried.

The seller probably isn’t worried about the numbers matching as long as the box is for the model you ordered. It is “original” to the phone model. But I completely see your concern.

Is the seller an individual or a business? If it’s a business, it would make sense that things don’t match up, as they are likely dealing with bulk quantities. If it’s from an individual, it could be as simple as they and their spouse each had the same phone and they grabbed the wrong box.

It's an individual, what's weird though,I looked through his feedback and I see the same thing,he for example sells an iPhone advertising it with the original packaging, but the accessories are completely unused, but he sells it as HIS phone,if it's his phone how come he didn't use any of the accessories?

My phone has the original accessories in the box still. I have a pair of AirPods and use wireless charging at home and the office. I have other cords already in my car, so no need to open any of the accessories that came with it.

That’s one reason Apple stopped including charge bricks in the newer models. They just assume everybody already has one so it’s cheaper (for them) to sell the phone without it.

If the phone is in the condition the listing stated (minus packaging) I wouldn’t worry too much. People also resell just the boxes, and I imagine other people buy them so they can raise their listing price for the phone some. I can’t think of another reason people sell just the box.

Ye you are right, well it was listed as no scratches at all and excellent condition with no damages ,but there are a few small but visible scratches on the back and a very small discoloration part on the bottom of he phone near the speakers, would you refund?

If the listing was for an excellent condition phone with no damages, I’d expect a phone in similar condition as one I’d open new. Maybe small cosmetic defects (my 12 mini has a dot of coloring missing on the metal edge, but it came out of the box that way and I don’t mind) but not scratches. If you can return it, I would.

My thoughts exactly, the mute button also had some filth in it and the charging port/speakers also filthy, maybe if it was advertised good or very good it would have been acceptable, the seller doesn't accept returns but I think I'm saved by ebay money back guarantee.
