thanks! But to ask, summing it together. Will the BTR5 be the best thing to drive it on with bluetooth?
If it doesn’t cost you significantly more, I’d advise to get the Qudelix 5k instead, since it’s the much better device (when it comes to features and software support).
I think it would be a “somewhat upgrade” But it’s out of stock everywhere here😬😢
Yeah, it’s pretty hard to get. I’ve bought them twice (once as a gift) and had to wait a few weeks for stock the second time. Still worth it imo.
Do you wanna take the Grados outside? You know that they are open? I do take my SR60s outside from time to time but everybody passing me, can hear what I listen to.
From a power standpoint, every Bluetooth AMP should be sufficient. As Grado can't change cable without modding, no need to look for a balanced AMP either.
Fiio has a great reputation for products over the last 10 years. So you should be doing fine getting a BTR5. I would choose the BTR7 solely for its 4.4mm output but that is not a think with the Grados as mentioned.
BTR 5 is quite good, you can also take a look I to the qudelix 5K which is also a great unit. Both should sound great and there’s nothing that’s far better for wireless, even tho wireless always comes with a loss on sound quality
I didn't click this expecting to see my setup!
I think it's pretty good, though I do find the Grados quite piercing in the treble range. Also the Grado headphone wires are super heavy which is unwieldy when moving around and especially when it has such a small dongle attached to it.
Do not, under any circumstances, touch the EQ on the BTR5. I'm not sure if it's just a problem via the app or from the device itself, but, apparently it can brick it. All I know is I changed it and now the BTR5 (2021) will not talk to my receiver.
You can buy directly from their website I think. Unless they don't ship to your country from their website u/KentankoongMusic

I mean, i still like it for the “wired” part. But when i gotta use it wireless, i have a dac for it. I think that’ll be better

I mean yeah, but still… don’t like the feeling of “bluetooth headphones” as a audiophile headphone😬
BTR5 is a great sounding device, I used one daily for a couple of years. I used LDAC with my phone, sounds very similar to using the usb connection, I say similar because it isn't actually the same but I found it equally enjoyable. Mine is still in good condition with little loss of battery runtime. If you have an interest in EQ or think you'll enjoy tinkering with an extensive phone app, the Qudelix would be better for that, other than it's app its very similar to the other bluetooth DAC/amps.

It’s fine. Grado doesn’t need much power so it’ll give you what you need.
