I saw these headphones on a podcast earlier, they look really nice and solid with comfy earcups, any ideas what are these headphones? I'm sorry if this is the wrong sub to post on, the other 2 subs didn’t seem suitable for identification, as one is for advice and the other for showing off a collection or setup. Thanks in advance!

Sennheiser 450BT in black?

Yes, thank you very much Though, those ones seem wired, does that improve sound quality, or is it just to plug it into an interface?

Sennheiser HD 4.40BT or HD 4.50BT, used in wired mode. I’d advise against them, they have small cups and headbands and are uncomfortable for average-sized heads.

Thank you very much, probably staying away from them

I guess it does

Ah, then it could also be the HD400S i.e. the wired version of the BT450 afaik.
Cable connection is certainly better in terms of latency, but modern Bluetooth codecs like LDAC or AptX HD are very good quality wise and virtually indistinguishable from a wired connection.

Not to mention they sound horrid in wired mode. Only recommend in wireless mode

Sennheiser HD400S Maybe

They are more on-ears than over-ears. The headband is very thin and doesn't offer much padding, so it needs some getting used to if you don't have much hair.
On the upside, the sound signature seems fairly balanced, especially for the price. Comfort-wise I'd wear them over my Sennheiser HD 599 on any day. Actually, sound-wise, too.

Yeah, the sound is pretty ok for the price. But the pads are still weird, even if they’d be on-ear. The HD 25 has proper on-ear pads, but the 4.40/4.50 ones are much more uncomfortable to me. But comfort is very subjective I guess.

In terms of audio quality there’s no meaningful difference, but sometimes there is an EQ difference if the headphone has built in DSP, which is bypassed in wired mode. The Focal Bathys is an exception to that, it routes sound through its DSP even in wired mode (and as a result, consumes battery even in wired mode).
