Hi all. i have been using Grado SR60E with sonarworks for a long time now. the ear pads are falling apart and (replacement ones sounded bad) and the wire is breaking. so i went into my storage bin and pulled out AKG K702 i have not touched for 10 years and dont remember how they even sounded but i know they were physically very comfortable. They had Velour pads. the foam has completely disintegraded and decomposed to the point where the earpads are not even pads, just empty velour bags lol. So i clearly need replacements to use them again.
I am looking at different replacement earpads on amazon and there are so many, i want to make sure i am getting the correct type that will be the best/correct sound for K702.
I am trying to choose between Velour, Pleather, and perforated pleather. All of them will change the sound. i know that leather isolates more so i would have more low end ( i produce EDM), velour is more comfortable but might leak sound. i have no experience with perforated though.
anyway... what type of ear pad would give me the most "true" K702 sound/eq curve? thanks!
