Pretty insane price that I haven't really seen anywhere else, including on US stores. I am in no way associated with the store - just stumbled across this while doing some window shopping.

That's an insane price. It's actually equivalent to a US price of $400, when you consider that US prices are always quoted ex-tax while Australian prices include tax.
All of the headphone prices there are really low. They’re far lower than anything I see here in Canada.
PSA: A2A are backlogged right now with orders. Waiting on my order from 24/12/2022 to be shipped, waiting on a USB cable from a previous order to still be shipped also (13/12/2022)
Expect a delay if you order these…
I ordered the Clears and got them on the 24th Dec, 2 days after placing order. I am in Melbourne though.
I ordered as soon as they started the sale (on the 24th), was waiting for Burson 3X GT but settled for some other gear I was going to get anyways. Prob just way too many orders after they started the sale
Melb here too, I guess they just hate me... I ordered the new 8kg Burson headphone rack and the Topping A90 Discrete headphone amp, and a few more cables...
I maybe got lucky they shipped mine soon!
Between this, the Elegia for $299 at Adorama, and the Clear OG for $839 at headphones.com, it seems like there have been some good deals on Focal lately.
Also the Elegia's are $499 (not available until late Jan). Are the Celestee's worth the $150 extra? I have not heard them but I did like the Elegia.
I haven’t personally heard them, but I’ve been doing a ton of research on that very question lately.
The impression I’ve gotten from all the reviews I’ve read and YouTube videos I’ve watched (including sound comparisons) seems to come down to this:
The Celestee is more balanced and well-rounded, but the Elegia is more interesting and more exciting.
If you just want one all-purpose headphone, the Celestee is a better bet. But if you already have a headphone collection and want something interesting and exciting to add, the Elegia is a better option. It’s more polarizing, in that some people absolutely love it, while others feel it has some strangeness in the upper bass and mids (which can be fixed via EQ and/or a pad swap).
Basically, the Elegia is a more interesting headphone, whereas the Celestee is a safer option that’s more of a crowdpleaser, but may come across as a bit boring to some.
I should stress that that’s not my personal opinion, as I haven’t heard either, but I’ve done hours and hours of research over the last few days, leading me to place an order for the Elegia earlier today.
Thanks! Tbh I think both should be great. I have the Clear’s open backs and they are amazing. So was looking at a closed back and not sure how long these prices will last.
I’m curious, when you heard the Elegia, how did you find they compared to the Clear?
Apparently Focal’s original goal with the Elegia was to try to create a closed back Clear, but while people seem to like the Elegia, I get the impression it’s fairly different from the Clear.
Pardon the pun but the Clear just sounds a lot more clear! Comparing open back to closed it's probably not that much of a surprise. They just reveal more than the Elegia.
I'd take the Celestee personally, it looks substantially better tuned. The Celestee is the direct replacement for the Elegia, after it was discontinued, and it has been $990 in the US while the Elegia has been selling for much less ($300-400).
If you like the Clear, the Celestee looks closer to that. Elegia is good for the low price but I think EQ is pretty much mandatory, I would not consider it if you aren't going to EQ it. Resolve has a good long term review with EQ profiles if you do go for that.
Oratory has measurements:

Looks like most of their headphones are on sale. Clear at $999 looks pretty good too.
Thank God I live in Sydney, guess I know where I'm going tomorrow
