I got the 560s a fee months ago and love them. I am driving them with a denon amp and they can take a bunch of power with no distortion to me. What are you going to drive them with?
Enjoy your cans, and don't worry about upgrades! The 560S can compete with stuff that's priced a tier or two higher, IMO.
DAC and amp don't matter much either, they're pretty easy to drive.
Thats great to hear. Well, what do I drive it with? Good question, you've quite caught me off guard. I do own a really cheap DAC/AMP from SoundBlaster, the price is around 20$. Not sure how that will handle the cans, I hope atleast decently. If you have any good suggestions (preferrably on the cheaper side) please share! :)
Be warned. They actually need a little bit of power past just a phone. Otherwise it will most likely be disappointing...
As I have stated in a different comment, I do own a really cheap DAC/AMP from SoundBlaster (20$). Dunno how that'll handle the cans, feel free to suggest anything.
That most likely is good, as the 560s is 120 ohm. Fiio makes some decent affordable headphone amps. I have the e10 and it has plenty of power for these. Try your amp first, it may work well with these.
I am sorry for being such a newbie in this field, however - will the qualities of the headphones be obvious, even with a insufficent AMP? Like, will I know for a fact, that "yes, i really dig the sound, however I know for a fact that I need a better AMP"? Sorry if my thoughts are confusing, trying my best to put it into words :D
I’ve never tried my pair with an amp/dac but my laptop/pc seem to drive them fine. I have heard that you’ll get the best out of them with an amp though, but shouldn’t be a big worry.
Well... The thing is that my desktop is a rather old one, with a cheap ass motherboard -> might have a weak on board sound department, does this also affect the sound quality greatly? What kind of PC do you have?
Oh no problem. I am absolutely no expert. If you max out the volume of the amp and the headphones are only moderately loud, you may want to get a more powerful amp.
As for the qualities, when I underpower a set of headphones, It is hard for me to really hear definition. Those 560s will surprise you with how fun they sound. Great Soundstage and way more low end than I expected from open backs.
My recommendation is to tame expectations. Not saying it won’t be great, but it’s important to go into it as open-minded as possible, while knowing what matters to you, what your preferences are, etc.. there’s just so many subjective factors at play.
Better to be pleasantly surprised than overly wooed or even disappointed, and give your ears/brain a little time to adjust.
I have pretty much a stock Dell XPS with a gpu swap. I got it barely used off Facebook marketplace and I cant seem to find how old it really is but it’s quite a good computer and most likely quite new as well. Can’t say how big of an effect this stuff can have on the sound since I’m pretty new to the hobby and haven’t tested a whole lot of things, but it’s probably worth testing how well it sounds with your pc before investing in a quality amp. But then again if you know you’ll need one in the future, might as well get it now, depends on your situation I guess!
Sounds like your amp should be more than enough to drive those cans. You’ll know if it’s not loud enough.
I love these headphones. I use them for everything. I suggest listening to your favorite tracks. Critical listening is half the fun for me.
I was able to drive the 560s off my 2020 iMac with no issues. I did use the on board 3.5mm jack as well as a Elgato Wave 3. The Wave 3 pumped out at least 20% more loudness at the same listening level. I just purchase and set up a Fiio K5 Pro ESS. There is a subtle but a very distinct difference in the listening experience at the same loudness level as the Wave 3 or iMac. I wouldn’t have purchased the FIIO K5 solely for loudness. I also have significantly more power to drive the headphones at louder levels as needed and the K5 can deliver high quality lossless. I am really enjoying the difference between stranded audio files and high quality lossless. There’s something really great about hearing the difference between drum stick strikes on the high hat.
Remember to use equalizer APO with Oratory1990's preset, they sound great with it but quite cheap without.
They sound merely the same, tho. Like one of the most Harman neutral headphones.

Pepsi is better than coke
DO NOT overspend on amps and dacs. Spending more than 100 bux for 560s is completely pointless. If anyone says otherwise they are coping on their pointless purchase.
you might notice the bass of 560s is way different.
I just bought a pair of 560S to upgrade from my HyperX headset and it’s been a good experience. There’s a bit less bass but I think basically everything else sounds better.
If you’re gonna use them on a PC make sure you set your front headphone jack to use the same channel as the jack on your motherboard. I forgot to do that and thought I had a busted pair with how muffled everything sounded. I played csgo to test the sound and an awp sounded like a blowgun
Don't get too excited. I'm sure they are great, but first time impressions can vary person to person. You might need time with them to begin enjoying the difference. I had this experience with multiple headphones, especially the Hifiman HE400se. It sounded weak and harsh at first, but after two weeks I began to really notice the great amount of details and overall precision of the sound, it sounds neutral bright-ish to my ears today.
Mine are coming tomorrow also!

How do I access the setting to do so? Thanks!
i have the 560s too! they're pretty great, but i'd say definitely don't expect to be WOWED right away, just listen to them for a while and get to know them :)
Can’t wait until someday I finally own 560s. It’s gonna happen eventually.
I love mine….plugged into a Soundblaster X and does just fine
I also came from an hyper x cloud to the 560s, but took several years and a bunch of iem and headphones in between
Damn right you are
You might not be wowed immediately. Just give it a listen for about 2 days then compare it to your old headphones then you can be wowed. I tried to compare my hd 560s to my cousin's corsair gaming headset which was my dream headphones back in college and when I tried them on I was " why are the vocals so recessed and the bass too boomy and the treble too piercing.
I did find the first big difference with mine when i listened to a live recording (Alice in Chain's Unplugged). After that i gave them some time with more music before i tried my old headphones. Then i heard the difference. I love these.
I’m not sure, could be BIOS since it’s a motherboard setting. I just plugged mine into the jack on the motherboard directly
yup absolutely recommend giving live music a shot with the 560s, it just sounds so good. my fav live performance with them is boygenius @ brooklyn steel
i also just got these recently and am loving them. i do wanna get either the 600 or 650/6XX sometime in 2023
Enjoy your cans and never worry about upgrade. If you want to upgrade your source in future, the budget should not more than your cans price
No, no… you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO spend at least 10x more on an amp and DAC. That’s how you get the most out of your headphones! Otherwise, they’ll just sound like poo poo.
^(in case this wasn’t obvious since there’s some weird people who actually believe this…)

Holy fuck that image is cursed.
As well as polishing with the special £80 cloth.
LOVE mine. But you need to listen to them for a bit to appreciate them. They may sound harsh or fatiguing at first. Get used to them. I adore mine. Total bliss when listening with my eyes closed. Can hear EVERY detail of the song.

I had a cup of herbal tea called "野草樹麗茶" from Jurakuen, Fukushima. Not bad, not amazing, yet not bad to chill with.
